About us

Organization for women empowerment (OWE) is a non-profit and a development organization registered with the NGOs Department of the Ministry of Economy, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan under license number 3259. OWE aims to help impoverished communities, particularly women, youth, and children to gain social, economic, and political potency through raising awareness, capacity building, educational and vocational skill training, and creating opportunities. OWE is a women’s organization for women.

OWE HISTORY

OWE was established in 2014 as an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization. OWE's learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, the development and growth of the organization have been through an evolutionary process. OWE is registered with the Ministry of Economy and can implement projects in 34 provinces of Afghanistan for women, youth, and children. 

OWE is equipped with a qualified board, employees, departments, technology tools, and volunteers, and is remarkably able to implement its activities by itself. Additionally, OWE is one of the successful organizations in the community, NGOs Coordination Bureau, and region.

OUR MISSION

In our unwavering commitment to uplift impoverished women, we strive to empower them with the tools and resources necessary to achieve social, economic, and political empowerment. Through a multi-faceted approach encompassing awareness campaigns, capacity building initiatives, educational and vocational skills training, and fostering countless opportunities nationwide, we aim to collaborate with the government, donors, and local communities. Our ultimate goal is to eradicate violence against women and provide them with the means to break free from illiteracy and poverty. By joining forces with various stakeholders, we aspire to create a society where every woman can thrive and flourish. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter future where women are not only empowered but also equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to overcome any obstacle in their path.
